Okay, now what?

I just got off a coaching call with one of my associates. She was “stuck”, “on a plateau”, “frustrated” and all of that stuff that goes along with not reaching one’s health goals. I spoke to her last week about her wellness program and asked her to keep a food log and we would discuss it this week.

WOW! I was very surprised to hear that she had cut back her calories so much. “But that is what “so-and-so” told me to do” she said. I asked her if she was happy where se was and she said a very loud “NO!” So we chatted.

How many times do you read something in the paper or see it on TV and say to yourself, “that is my problem! I am going to fix it with THAT and everything will be perfect”? Only to do that and find out it wasn’t all that it was hyped up to be? Probably more times than you can count, right? Why is that? Why is it that we jump on to the “next great thing” and think it is supposed to give us what we want?

Because we are human that’s why. Oh yeah, and a little bit lazy too!

Wouldn’t it be great if we were children again and someone else told us what to eat, where to go and how to behave? Those were the days weren’t they?  But then we couldn’t wait to grow up and make our own decisions! So we are grown up…

NOW WHAT?

Now the world is ever changing and more and more confusing. Eat this, don’t eat that, add this to your diet, don’t add that, delete that, eat more of that, eat less of that….ARRGGHHHHH!!!

Here is the SIMPLE TRUTH…be happy. Do what makes you HAPPY. Eat what makes you HAPPY. If you are truly happy eating junk, then eat it. Just DO NOT beat yourself up afterwards. If you are HAPPY counting calories, then do that. Just DO NOY beat yourself up about it afterwards if you go over. If you are HAPPY being vegetarian than educate yourself and be the best vegetarian you can be for YOU!

 

There are 2 ways to be in this world, happy or not happy. You get to choose every day, every moment. It is really up to you.

So my associate and I chatted, “do what makes you HAPPY when it comes to your wellness program” I told her. “EAT so that you are happy, not because someone else told you to do it. Gather your own information and find out what works for you. LIVE and be HAPPY and along the way you will figure it out. Guaranteed if you are HAPPY, truly happy, you will live a long and healthy life.”  It really can be that simple.
